I’ve also roasted this coffee before, but I wasn’t particularly happy with the results. Lets try it on our new sample roast profiles

Sample Roast - 10.3.22

I’m really excited about my fan-only profile, so let's try that.

This roast didn’t go so well. The coffee took the heat really fast, and I had to manually increase the fan F3 → F4.

The roast visually looks too dark for my goal here, but we’ll see what the loss is and how it tastes.

Also, there’s clear tipping happening. We’ll def drop the charge temp for this one and use less heat next time.

Notes:

I think this is probably my best roast of this coffee yet.

• The orange acidity and oolong tea body are coming through well
• There’s a sweet bready finish that you could convince me is strawberry shortcake (noted from the importer)
• There’s a touch of underdevelopment when hot

Conclusion:

I’m going to roast this again but at P5. I’m going to leave the charge temp as is as I didn’t detect any smokey off-flavors from the tipping.
